POSITION SUMMARY

In the context of growth, they are looking for a motivated individual to fill a new Senior Analyst position within the Altium team. Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, the Senior Analyst’s main responsibilities will be to manage the process of monitoring and supervising investment strategies, both traditional and non-traditional. The Senior Analyst will also be responsible for gathering information on external managers’ strategies and performance, as well as preparing comments. Finally, the candidate will be called upon to participate in the ongoing due diligence of clients’ external portfolio managers and investment portfolios, as well as to maintain and update databases of portfolio managers and external suppliers.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the process of supervising and monitoring investment strategies, both traditional and non-traditional (alternative investments):
    • Closely monitor updates of managers’ strategies;
    • Ensure that information is transmitted to members of the Investment Management Department;
    • Collect information on managers’ performance and their strategies;
    • Prepare comments on the performance of the strategies;
    • Prepare monthly performance reports;
    • Actively monitor news and movements in the financial markets;
    • Prepare weekly and ad hoc market summaries as required.
  • Maintain and update databases of portfolio managers and external suppliers;
  • Participate in ongoing due diligence of external portfolio managers and clients’ investment portfolios;
  • Participate in the search for new investment opportunities;
  • Collaborate with the Wealth Management department in the preparation of presentations for meetings with clients and potential clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in finance or a related discipline;
  • CFA designation obtained or advanced steps to obtain designation;
  • Minimum of 3 relevant years in the monitoring and follow-up of investment strategies and portfolio managers;
  • Knowledge of financial markets and investment products;
  • Knowledge and experience with non-traditional strategies (an asset);
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Programming and financial modeling skills (an asset);
  • Bilingual (English and French).
